Me? Bless God?

I awoke with this thought this morning! (@ 5:15) 😜 šŸ’¤šŸ’¤

Do I bless GOD when I spend time with Him? Or, how ā€˜bout this… is there a part of God’s heart (life) that is lonely when I get too busy for Him?

Wow, I sure don’t have an answer yet this morning. But that’s usually how this hotel (cyclone) in my head works. In drops a Q such as this, my mind begins to spin, and sooner or later, ā€œIā€ discover something new.

So, whatcha think? If God is God, #He.Is,I’m.Not, then how can He need ANYTHING from me? But He made us ā€œin His Image.ā€ Is the need for interaction with others a HUMAN trait, or is it part of His image created in us?

Barbara Horwege, our first Pastor’s wife after we got out of the Air Force almost 50 years ago told me, ā€œJim, you think too much!ā€ Nailed me!!!

All I know and understand this morning is, it BLESSES ME when I spend time with Him. Is it reciprocated?

Have a GREAT Day, my friends!! Don’t think TOO much, but share with the rest of us! Pretend we’re sitting across from each other at the corner table in Walnut Creek ButterCup.

Safe Harbor

One of my favorite personal recovery Truths is:

“A secret,Ā a burden,Ā a failure, a hurt – shared in a safe placeĀ with a safe person becomes lessĀ than 1/2 as heavy!”

I’ve experienced it from both sides of the table.

I’ve shared things with others and been setĀ free from the power of the shame

I’ve been able to listen without judgement to the secret pain others carry and witnessed their journey into freedom
IT Ā IS Ā AĀ  JOURNEY!!Ā
DON’TĀ  WALKĀ  ALONE!!Ā

Ask God to bring that special person into your life who can be “The Safe Harbor.” Establish that safe place BEFORE the storms come. Expect the storm. See it while it is still in the distance. Make your way to the Harbor before it arrives! Resist the urge to stand strong by yourself.

The strongest person is always the one who knows their weakness and has developed plans in advance of the inevitable times of need.
Lord, You are my God.
I will honor you and praise your name.
You have done amazing things.
You have faithfully carried out the
plans you made long ago.
…the hopeless have fled to you
and have been safe in times of trouble
You give them shelter from storms
and shade from the burning heat.
